I ordered this set, not knowing if it was melamine or porcelain. But liked the look, and my kids love the little mole, and so do I. It is porcelain, and really quite lovely and old fashioned in look. The plate has been dropped once, didn't break, so quite durable. We are more than pleased, and would defidently order again.
